A Message from Natalie
Dear Friends,
As we approach the end of the year, I want to share some updates on important initiatives in our community.
I am proud to share that the provincial government is investing in a new mental health unit at Joseph Brant Hospital making it faster and easier for Burlington residents to access the care they need, closer to home. This project will make a tangible difference in the lives of patients and families in Burlington. Our hospital will be better equipped to deliver high-quality, patient-centred, mental health care in a safe and comfortable setting.
I also heard from local condo residents about their safety and privacy concerns. In late November, I brought forward a motion in the Ontario Legislature to enhance privacy protections for condominium community members. The motion passed with unanimous support from all members of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. Work is now underway to address this issue for all condo owners and board directors across the province.
Finally, in response to the July flooding in areas around creeks and waterways in Burlington, the Province has activated the Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians (DRAO) program to help severely affected areas.
Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season and all the best in the new year!
Please feel welcome to contact my office anytime.
Warm regards,
Natalie Pierre

Improving Safety and Privacy in Condominium Communities
On November 19, 2024, MPP Natalie Pierre successfully passed Motion 135 in the Ontario Legislature to improve the safety and privacy of condominium residents. Prompted by concerns from Burlington residents following a tragedy in Vaughan in 2022, the motion seeks to shield condo owners' home addresses and unit numbers from being disclosed in corporation records. It received unanimous support from all parties and aims to enhance safety and peace of mind for condo communities in Burlington and across Ontario.
Expanding Mental Health Care in Burlington
MPP Natalie Pierre announced the creation of a new mental health unit at Joseph Brant Hospital. This unit will expand mental health and addiction services with outpatient care, enhanced adult psychiatric spaces, and a child and youth wing in phase two. It reflects a commitment to accessible, high-quality care, early intervention, and strong community support networks. The project was made possible through collaboration between the government, hospital staff, donors, and community partners, benefiting Burlington and nearby areas.
