Ontario Investing in Burlington’s Local Music Industry

The Ontario government is supporting Burlington through an investment to strengthen and support the economic and cultural growth of the province's music industry.

Funding helps create opportunities for Ontario’s emerging artists.

The following Burlington groups received $255,000 in funding over the past year through Ontario Creates, an agency of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming:

  • Pirates Blend Records received $50,000
  • Outside Music Inc. received $130,000
  • A Tribe Called Red Inc. received $32,500
  • Mighty Gang Inc. received $42,500

In addition, one organization received funding through the Ontario Arts Council, an agency of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming:

  • A Tribe Called Red Inc. received $4,000

“Our government recognizes the important role that the arts play in fostering dynamic and thriving communities across Ontario,” said MPP Natalie Pierre. “This support will help to continue to create more opportunities for emerging artists to showcase their talent – creating good jobs and drawing more visitors to Burlington and communities across the province.”

“Ontario’s vibrant and diverse arts and culture industries enrich our lives and boost economic activity,” said Stan Cho, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming. “I’m pleased that these organizations are being provided with the funding they require to continue their great work in Burlington, complementing the creative endeavours of other non-profit creative organizations across the province.
